Akwasa Goodness Funlayefa: “Mistake”

Mistake

by Akwasa Goodness Funlayefa

On the grass I sit
My heart soaked in pains
Muttering now and then,
I must have been disordered
I then stare at the rising sun,
I shake my head though in spasm of pain,
I forge ahead with pains at heart

I cannot turn back the time
This mistake could be my luck
Bringing me to a crossroad
A map before me, then
the path I ought to choose
I will clearly see
