I am a queer, nonbinary writer and artist of color, and I live and teach Creative Writing, Dance, Humanities, and Literature in Houston, Texas. I received my Master of Fine Arts from the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College and my PhD in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. My young adult novel, Dear Twin was released November 2019 via Metonymy Press. It was an SPD (Small Press Distribution) bestseller in November/December 2019 and January/February 2020. My memoir manuscript, and in its place—: An Ode to Frankenstein, has been a finalist with The Feminist Press, The Cleveland State University Poetry Center, 1913 Press, and Pleiades Press. I am a staff writer at Spectrum South, and Nonfiction Editor at The Grief Diaries, Associate Editor at Raising Mothers, and Assistant Fiction Editor at Anomaly. I am Founding Editor and Editor in Chief at just femme & dandy. I run a blog & advice column, called Dear Addie.
