Brendan McCall is an award-winning dance / theater artist and writer whose work has been presented in over 35 countries on 5 continents. He has worked with Tom Alessandri, Alexandra Beller, Maureen Fleming, David Gordon, Jenny Hollingworth, Moises Kaufman Paul Langland, Said Mahrouf, Lloyd Newson, Mary Overlie, Stephen Petronio, Aki Sato, Keith Thompson, among others. He served as the Manager of the Cummins Theatre (Australia) from 2012-14, and created theBelarusian Dream Theater project in partnership with 18 participating theater groups in the US, Europe, and Australia. He has over 18 years international teaching experience, with long-term appointments at the Yale School of Drama, the New School for Drama, New York University, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School, Danshögskolan (Sweden), Bilkent University (Turkey), and The International Theater Academy Norway, where he served as Rektor from 2008-10. His writing has appeared in English, Norwegian, and Belarusian in publications such as Contemporary Theatre Review, Contact Quarterly Dance Journal, Arche,Experimenta, The Belarusian Review, The Nordic Page, Movement Research Performance Journal,others. He is the Artistic Director of Ensemble Free Theater Norway, and lives in Oslo with his wife and daughter. BFA with Honors, New York University; MFA, Bennington College.
