George Franklin is the First Prize Winner of the 2023 W.B. Yeats Poetry Prize and the author of five full-length poetry collections: Remote Cities, Noise of the World, and Traveling for No Good Reason, Among the Ruins/Entre las ruinas, and a collection in collaboration with Colombian poet Ximena Gómez, Conversaciones sobre agua/Conversations About Water, and the chapbook Travels of the Angel of Sorrow. He practices law in Miami, teaches poetry workshops in Florida prisons, and co-translated, along with the author, Ximena Gómez’s Último día/Last Day.
