Lisa Marguerite Mora is a prize winning writer of fiction and poetry. She received a Bachelors in English/ Creative Writing Emphasis from UCLA. Her personal essays have appeared in Literary Mama, Rebelle Society, The Venice Beachhead, and The Urban Howl, among others. Poetry published includes Rattle, California Quarterly, Serving House Journal, ONTHEBUS, Cultural Weekly, Blue Mountain Arts (Second Place Prize), Public Poetry Series, Poemimage, Writing in a Woman's Voice (14th & 26th Moon Prize), and many others. In 2017 Lisa tied for first place in the Dandelion Press Micro Fiction Contest, which features the artwork of Lori Preusch internationally recognized fine artist and award winning author, who is soon to release a book of the winning stories. Last year Lisa was interviewed for the podcast series Wow-Whispering: Exploring the Heart of Conversation & High Performance Communication. She has completed a first novel and now wears as a badge of honor a response from Curtis Brown U.K. Literary Agency's Jonny Geller (agent to John Le Carre, Tracy Chevalier, Nelson Mandela), while she continues to search for a home for this work: “A difficult decision. We were very impressed. The writing is engaging, the idea is appealing, and you write with real energy and imagination.” She is in the midst of several writing projects that include a second novel.
