Lollie Butler earned a state fellowship in Creative Writing and has taught Poetry and Memoir writing to women prisoners of the Arizona State Prison. An MFA graduate of The University of Arizona, she continues to teach through the OLLI-UA program. Her poem "The One Free Woman in America", dedicated to Rosa Parks remains on view at the Presidential Library in Texas. Other awards include The Robert Frost Foundation Award. Three of her poetry books for children (Kelsey Press) and a book of poetry for adults were published (The One Thing That Saves Me. (Finishing Line Press). Currently she is working on a book of Western poetry.
