Kickstart This: Echo Chamber
Kickstarter of the Week
A project truly worth Kickstarting.
The powerhouse that is Rhea Tepp, co-founder/organizer of LA Zine Fest among other things, and Sarah Cisco, the writer, creator, and star of Trash/Smash, are planning to open a fully collaborative headquarters for the L.A. independent art and music community aimed at creation, experimentation & storytelling in Echo Park.
Echo Chamber will exist for three months beginning July 2014, in the building once occupied by Echo Curio. The Curio was a beloved space to the local creative community, ourselves included, which is why we are excited to continue its legacy through the reinvention of a new space.
What will they be doing at Echo Chamber Creative HQ? Well:
ECHO CHAMBER WILL BE A:
*Headquarters for creative collaboration.
*Open studio space showcasing local artists’ work.
*Resource center for writers, zinesters and illustrators to collaborate with crafters, musicians, comedians, and creative locals.
*Home of the L.A. Zine Fest zine library.
*Opportunity for zine makers to reproduce their work on a RISO RC 6300 photocopy machine.
*Boutique for independent creators & designers.
*Set of a talk show interviewing local bands, writers, and artists.
*Satellite broadcast station for KXLU 88.9FM.
*Book/zine club meeting space.
*Place for skill-sharing workshops.
*Home of a public storytelling booth installation.
BUT THERE IS ONLY 1 WEEK LEFT! ENDS JULY 3!! GO!
