Mexico and Haiti are two countries that celebrate their dead each year with a traditional holiday – reflecting their relationship with death in a celebration full of color, energy and vigor, almost reminding death itself that it cannot kill the vitality of their spirit and wonderful culture.
Choreographers Leilani Maciel and Ashley Meeder and their troupe have been invited by the Embassy of Mexico in Haiti to present their dance project Mors Celare in Port-au-Prince. They plan to travel and perform there October 28-November 4th. They’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $3800 by October 6, 2012.
