Lit Crawl L.A., Third Time’s Got Charm

Los Angeles’ Literary Lovefest Returns To North Hollywood

The literary life of Los Angeles is thriving, and a free celebration is afoot!

The international Lit Crawl phenomenon returns to L.A. with the 3rd Annual Lit Crawl L.A. on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in the North Hollywood Arts District! Over 35 restaurants, bars, galleries, theaters and other hip NoHo venues will host an evening of innovative presentations with the best of L.A.’s literary scene sampling from throughout Los Angeles County and the SoCal region!

Over 40 presenters, including readings series, lit journals, performance groups, local presses and more, are hosting events at 35+ locations across the NoHo Arts District! Held in three 45-minute rounds, this progressive literary night is a chance to dine, explore, and stroll while enjoying readings and performances!

3,000 guests attended last year’s Crawl which featured more than 170 writers at events and the Los County Library’s Bookmobile and the Los Angeles Public Library’s Library Store on Wheels joined us out on the streets for the literary fun! Many guests took the LA Metro to the Crawl, walking and riding their bikes throughout the evening.

The Lit Crawl originated in 2004 as part of Litquake, San Francisco’s Literary Festival, which is tremendously popular and to this day attracts thousands of guests, annually. San Francisco’s Litquake literary festival runs every October with other annual Lit Crawls in NYC, Seattle, Iowa City, Austin, London, Helsinki, and Portland. In 2013, Lit Crawl L.A. was founded as a project of the Litquake Foundation and of the Pasadena Arts Council’s EMERGE program.
