Doubling up
Two entries are lined up to take the stage at the Dance at the Odyssey Festival. First up: Galiana & Nikolchev’s The Useless Room considers a traumatized man on a table after a hurricane in Insula. Second up: Hannah Millar considers humanity over a seven year span in Let Us Bleed, Then Heal. The Odyssey Theatre, 2055 S. Taking a tour
Two entrepreneurial sisters made good use of the two year lockdown establishing Ballet Project TV which aired videos of their nascient company Ballet Project OC and other companies during the pandemic lockdown. Now the sisters, Ally and Emily Helman are going live. The program includes five new works by mostly California choreographers. The company tours three SoCal venues. For more than 25 years, Carnival Choreographer’s Ball has provided a periodic showcase for choreographers, mostly commercially-inclined, to bring work before an audience.
