We are chuffed!

We just won the Gold Award for content marketing at the 13th Annual Davey Awards for our 2017 “Sundance By the Numbers” infographic.

This collaboration between Crowd, Entertainment Media Partners, and Cultural Weekly was one of over 4,000 submissions to the Davey Awards, which honor the best creative work from small agencies, firms and companies worldwide.

“We’re very proud of this recognition,” said Adam Leipzig, CEO of Entertainment Media Partners and publisher of Cultural Weekly. “It speaks to the immense passion and long hours that we put into this effort every year. We’ve now produced four annual Sundance Infographics and our team of creatives improve on it every year. Never more so than in 2017.”

The Davey Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 700+ member organization of leading international professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. They exclusively honor the “Davids” of creativity. David defeated the giant Goliath with a big idea and a little rock – the sort of thing small agencies do each year.

“It’s the second year in a row that we’ve won a Davey,” said Tod Hardin, Crowd’s managing partner for North America. “Winning it for this infographic is truly special. While it’s always a huge undertaking, it is especially rewarding, as its annual publication has become highly anticipated by the indie film industry.”

Those directly involved in this project were Tod Hardin, providing Art Direction for Crowd; Jason Beckerleg, as Head of Design for Crowd; Adam Leipzig, providing creative direction from Entertainment Media Partners; and Ahmad Zaeem, who brought the static version to life in an interactive animated version.

We have already begun our 2018 Sundance Infographic, which will again visualize data about the current state of the independent film industry.
